This year has ben phenomenal and entertaining but I would love to see him on that top step in Zandvoort. I'm not asking for him to win every race the second half (tho ngl that would be hilarious.)

Idk about everyone else but I'm a Max Verstappen domination supporter. He's worked hard to get to this point. (Although I would prefer Charles or Oscar catching up and fighting with him. And winning. What can I say, lestappen w2w is on another level.)

Summary: --- Full summary of the series will come really soon, explaining everything that is actually not seen in this sneak peek. This is merely a small part of something bigger, with of course the Winchesters and Reader as main characters (obvi).

“Well, would you look at that. The prodigal son finally back? Call dad to see this- Oh wait, he's gone MIA again.” Lucifer made a face and laughed but didn't even turn to look at the other angel.

A small sigh left his lips “Hello to you to brother.” he said ever so calmly, his voice has not been heard for centuries yet Lucifer still remembered it clearly.

“Brother? Is it my birthday already? Wow has it been a long while since I heard you say that!” Lucifer said with a cute grin and shrug.

The angel let a small sigh and rolled his eyes “As it seems the cage has not changed you much, brother.” he said casually, hands in his black coat's pockets and leaning against a pillar.

The devil laughed, shaking his head “Oh so I am your brother now? Forgive me- I- I just kinda find hard to believe it... considering what happened.” at the mere mention of the events Lucifer got serious and turned to look at his sibling with glowing yellow eyes this time.

The other angel didn’t even blink, his sky blue eyes remained focused on the devil with such an intensity that was a great contrast to the rest of his features. If anything those eyes could read souls in a split second, trait he had gained over the centuries he walked the Earth, but let only a few realize what storm was going on inside his own soul. In a blink of an eye they could go from peaceful to stormy, and Chuck help whoever had to face that.

“Lucifer” he said ever so calmly “I am not here to talk about that.” he looked at his brother with his hands in his black coat's pockets.

“Oh really?” Lucifer shifted in his throne, grinning “What could it be then?”

“You know very well what that is.” he said, his eyes piercing right through Lucifer's.

“Excited you're going to be an uncle or what?” the devil broke into a big grin, wiggling in his place.

The angel got serious “You know where I stand on this brother.”

“Ah yes, now that daddy can't do anything to protect humanity you are stepping into the picture huh?” he got up from his seat “Tell me, though brother. Where were you when all those monsters were walking on Earth, auntie Amara on top of all, and threatening the peace you helped him built? How come you weren't here to protect humans- or should I say your precious one?” he smirked as the angel's eyes got darker. But he didn't say anything, he only gave him a dangerous smile.

“How do you know I wasn't?” he raised an eyebrow and Lucifer frowned deeply.

In the end he let a small huff of air and turned to his throne once more “I will like to see what you're going to do about it, really.” he crossed his arms over his chest, a confident smile on his face.

“You have that much confidence in him don't you?”

“What can I say- I am a proud daddy already.” he grinned, laughing in his seat as the angel only hummed. Playing with his blade.

Lucifer raised an eyebrow at it but spoke again “You didn't tell me, what have you been up to lately big bro?”

“Oh you know, the usual.” he shrugged playing with his golden angel blade, not looking at Lucifer but feeling his cautious eyes on him “Just living my life. On Earth. One of the many.”

“Is that so?” he wouldn't say much, waiting for the older to do something. If anything he had learned on thing in all his years in heaven: His brother was the most calm of all angels, collected and gentle. But when he got angry, not even Chuck could help whoever stood in his way.

Lucifer wasn't stupid to pick a fight with him. Not while he had that thing on his hand. This time he had to think things through, calculate everything if he wanted his little puddle of power to be born and live up to his promises.

“Such as?” he asked curiously.

“Oh you know it little brother.” he mumbled running the blade over the table the sound making the devil purse hiss lips at the not-so-pleasant memories “Went hiking... did lots of climbing... killed every one last prince of hell... won an oscar- oh and got finished on the new album!” he grinned as he looked at the devil with ease, shrugging.

“Same old same.”

I have been planning on sharing this with you guys, but I'm still nervous to. This is going to be long.

I dunno if everyone on here has seen it, but there's several articles about a rumor that Disney will retcon the sequel trilogy. Scrap it from the canon timeline. It will move to the "Legends" category like all the old novels did.

I can't handle this thought.

So I'm going to do the only thing I can think of in this day and age that might make a difference. I'm going to write a letter to Disney.

I've been writing it in my head for over a month since I heard the rumors. This isn't it exactly but here's a basic rundown:

I would start by introducing myself and what a huge fan I am and how long I have loved SW. How much it means to me.

Then I would state clearly that I am not asking anyone to comment on the rumors or even acknowledge them. I just would like them to hear out the thoughts of a dear fan.

I would state the many things that I love about the ST. For me, it's cast, characters, some plot points, design, the tributes to the original, etc. How much I loved tfa how much hope I had.

I would state that I have observed that tfa was popular among fans, but we were all divided about the last two films.

I would say that IF Disney really wanted to scrap the st, I would ask them to please first consider retconning only tlj and tros.

It would allow the st to be salvaged, it would reinstate respect for the franchise, it would give beautiful and meaningful closure to the Skywalker saga that has affected millions of lives around the world, that it deserves it. It would redeem Disney AND Lucasfilm, and isn't star wars about redemption at its core?

I have quite a few suggestions about how to fix it as well.

First, please write the whole story out from the beginning. Bring in whoever they want, JJ, the DotF writer I forget his name, George Lucas, hell, even Rian if they really wanted to. Work together to write a cohesive story that ties everything together instead of muddling it up. (but in more polite language)

Someone said that tfa was hans movie, tlj Lukes and tros Leia's. But Leia probably only had 5 minutes of screen time in tros. Rian Johnson however has hours of footage of Carrie. If JJ and Rian worked together with all the footage they have between them, they could make the middle movie Leia's and make it a truly beautiful and touching tribute to Carrie and without sacrificing her to save her otherwise irredeemable son.

Luke could have the 3rd movie then, allowing him to tie off the saga, which I think is apt. (tlj felt more like Leia's film anyway)

Now the issue of the alienated cast members.

Mark has been unhappy since he read Rian's script. He, as we know, that Luke was so beyond out of character that it wasn't even funny. If he comes with Rey to help train her and Finn, and help fight, and reconcile with Leia, it would be wonderful. It would be right. Let him make up with R2 and Chewie too. (could we see him seeking out other force sensitives?) Disney could admit their mistake and request Mark return for these two final movies so that he who has literally been the soul of Luke Skywalker for over 40 years can close the Skywalker saga properly. They could donate to his favorite charity or something additionally.

Oscar Isaac got done so dirty. He played 3 different characters in 3 different movies. Like Mark, he helped create Poe (JJ was going to kill him off and Oscar, who was tired of dying in movies, requested he live and look what a wonderful character we got out of that! And he's from Guatemala and Yavin was filmed on Guatemala so he asked jj for poe to be from yavin!) Oscar said the only way he'd come back to Disney was if he needed a new house. Obvi that's a big fuck you. But I believe if they apologized and offered donations, and fixed the canon, and reminded him how much his fans love Poe, how he WAS Poe, he would at least consider it. No Latino stereotypes. Drug smuggler, hot-headed, misogynist. Whatever Rian was trying to do to him. Let Poe grow and become the leader Leia was training him to be. And then the big one: MAKE FINNPOE CANON. It doesn't have to be big, a hushed exchange during a deadly battle, a tender kiss while one is fixing the Falcon (we know they're han n leia they can't fool us), someone else teasing them about it. Just make it canon.

John! Poor John. Who was promoted everywhere holding the Skywalker sabre? Finn? Who canonically is Force Sensitive? Finn you say? Hmm. LET FINN AND REY TRAIN TOGETHER! THAT'S WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN! None of that comic relief cowardly shit Rian was doing. Let him be brave and heroic! Let him grab Poe's hand and kiss him! I wanna see finn learn to pilot and fight like the Resistance. And please. Please. Let him lead the stormtrooper revolution! Let him be a goddamn hero and leader! It's what he deserves!

Rey. She had so much potential in tfa. Then she was just a love interest for the "hero" of Rian's movie to make him falter in his dedication to the dark side. She got to be a Jedi in tros, but she was also ooc. She pushed her friends away. For what? I get it that the trio can't be together all the time (ot trio were separated for most of esb!) but her forgetting everything she learned from Luke AND Leia to go hide on Ach To? Couldn't have been more ooc. Let her hate Kylo, let her be a jedi, let her have weaknesses and strengths, and let her grow. Oh and let her appreciate the universe a bit more (like the pasaana scene) And for fucks sake. We all know she was a Kenobi (ewan cameo anyone?) . Palpatine was a stupid last minute decision that doesn't make any sense. Her heritage was supposed to make sense. Not be a soap opera gotcha, for fucks sake.

(okay I'm tired it's 430am and I am making myself mad. I'll push through these last few)

Kylo Ren. Tfa was spent making him evil. Hateable. He murdered civilians in cold blood, brutally tortured poe, helped the fo kill literally billions (many more probs) with starkiller, tortured rey (and did it in a very creepy stalkery way), killed han solo in ice cold blood just to prove to himself that he really belonged to the dark side, nearly killed finn, and tried to kill rey. All in the first movie! So either let us spend the next two movies hating his guts and letting rey kill him in the end OR start his redemption very early in the second movie so it at least kind of makes sense when it eventually happens! If he gets redeemed, let him say goodbye to his mom.

Leia wouldn't have slapped Poe. There. At least not for that. And she should have been at least considering training rey before she knows if Luke's coming or not.

Side characters! Let Hux either be a slimy villain or a spy the whole time. Let him have an interesting story and dignified death. He deserved better. No 3 stooges crap.

Holdo. Amazing character. Loved her look. Loved the concept of an old Alderaani friend of Leia's! Loved that she was a beautiful feminine Admiral who could kick ass and had brilliant ideas. Instead of making her care more about people seeing her sacrifice as selfless than a budding mutiny and talking to her subordinates (you know, like Leia does), she could be a great coleader and consul to Leia. Let them talk about Alderaan!

Rose. I love rose. She deserves to be more than an hour and a half long cockblock slash no homo for stormpilot. It's obvious and rude. Let her help them and then move up the ranks! She could be a lesbian!

Phasma. Give her a story arc. Let her face the trooper uprising! Swear vengeance on Finn! (spin off movie like Fett?) and a dignified death.

DJ. As green day said, someone kill the dj. He doesn't belong. Remove him from the equation, no offense Mr. The Collector.

Give Connix a bit more screen time. Let her help lead. Let Jannah and her people help or be a part of the uprising. LET ALL OF BLACK SQUADRON MAKE A CANON APPEARANCE TOGETHER! Even if they're not part of the main plot, let us see them. And if any of them die, let us see their teammates mourn, please. (I would also die if we got a disney plus black squadron show adapted from the comic!)

Okay instead of the coherent thoughts on how Disney might reimagine the st, I ended up ranting about what I really wanted out of it. Sorry. I've had a lot of thoughts lately.

But even though my incoherence, I hope y'all can see the general idea. Also point out to them that it may be a little expensive, but the profit off these new perfect movies would put the last 2 to shame AND they would cement another generation of dedicated fans, who would be spending money!

And then I would put the bug in the cast members ears too over social media. Ask them to talk to Disney.

If any of my friends here liked my idea and might consider writing as well, I may be able to make a sort of template for the letter that they could use?

This is pie(poe?) in the sky. But I got really depressed at the thought of the movies that helped save my life being just. Disappeared. From the canon. It felt like a slap in the face. So it's just a shot in the dark, a sliver of hope that sometimes your faith pays off, you know?

What is it from the dark knight? Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded? Yeah that.

Sorry for the long rambling response. I just. I gotta do something. And if other people helped, maybe we could do something.

i’m listening to rey’s theme from the force awakens and getting emotional bc god what a waste of a franchise, like tfa was SO GOOD!!! we were so excited for it!!! and it payed off!!! we got rey and finn and poe and they were amazing!!! this girl who’s force sensitive and scrappy and this boy who made the terrifying choice to leave the empire and this boy who’s been a part of the rebels since he was young and we’re all thinking “wow i love them!! i wonder where their stories are gonna go!!” and it just gets WASTED like all of that for two terrible movies and little to no character development it’s so disappointing

Jennie Livingston lo aprendió: no basta mezclar una intoxicante dosis de maquillaje y mastique, unas pelucas de nervios estilo Luis XV, y siempre será insuficiente la cantidad de rímel corrido, consecuencia del drama circundante a un grupo de entaconadas para lograr un documental exitoso, vigente y trascendental.

Paris is Burning (1990) que además de tener casi mi edad y a diferencia mía, logra mantenerse vigente en pleno 2016. Nos resume de una manera limpia, organizada y concreta la Ball Scene de finales de la década de los 80 en Nueva York, sin embargo no queda en un simple “80s Ball Scene for Dummies para la jotita ingenua”.

¿Por qué? ¿Qué no es bastante común ver a innumerables y talentosas (JA-JA-JA) vestidas llevar a cabo algún performance? ¿Qué más nos quiere contar? ¿Qué más precisamos saber de un medio tan profundamente superficial (ajá)? ¿Cómo se estructura esta ball scene? ¡Es más sencillo y de insiders ver algún episodio de RuPaul’s Drag Race, con mucho más Dragma! ¡Shantay … you stay!

House

“A house is a gay street gang. Now, where street gags get their rewards from street fights, a gay house street fights at a ball… the houses started because you wanted a name”.

Unión y resilencia: imprescindibles para la entonces sub cultura del balling, muchos de sus integrantes provenientes de un nivel socioeconómico bajo, no se ven limitados en vivir el sueño (al menos por una noche) de transformarse en aquella persona que siempre han añorado, gozar el sueño estando despiertos y conscientes, generándose ambiciones de superación y sed de triunfo, teniendo la oportunidad de saciarla con un trofeo al finalizar el encuentro así como el reconocimiento de los demás. Obteniendo al mismo tiempo, un sentido de pertenencia y lealtad hacia su respectiva casa, concediéndole triunfos a cada una de éstas cada vez que resultaran ganadores en las competiciones.

Un modo voguero para explicar este sistema de “casas” sería: Diana Vreeland (la “madre”), editora de la revista Vogue (la “casa”) es alguien que durante su formación logra forjar un gusto refinado y aprehender los conocimientos necesarios para llevarlo a cabo e ir imprimiendo estilo propio, pero precisa formar un equipo (los “hijos”), que esté dispuesto a aprender. 

Una vez logrado el dream team, o la preparación adecuada de algún integrante, compiten contra las demás revistas (las demás “casas”) en las distintas categorías del balling, que son lo suficientemente diversas e incluyentes para que sin importar que seas un chacalón de nervios o el sueño de Oscar Mayer (sí, un jamón, pero eso sí: de nervios) tengas la oportunidad de demostrar a los jueces y al público asistente todo lo que has aprendido en casa: triunfando.

El jurado emite su calificación con alguna de las siguientes tarjetas: Menor a 8 (Mana… ¡regresa a casa y comienza de nuevo!), 9 (muy buen trabajo), 10 (¡excelente!, pero puede ser mejorado) y OVAH! (OVAAAAHH!).

Otros ejemplos: mi Coco y Karl Lagerfeld con Chanel, Miranda Priestly en Runway con Andrea y Emily, RuPaul en RuPaul’s Drag Race con su prolífera lista de participantes o los Versace. Algunos de los anteriores ejemplos conforman un sistema: una familia, en la cual no precisas de algún vínculo biológico para formar y sentirte un integrante de la misma, ya que además de apoyarte, enseñarte y formarte te ayuda a canalizar de una manera creativa toda tu energía.

Reading and Shade

No hay mejor manera de explicar el significado de reading: Es la forma real del arte de insultar. Que al mismo tiempo da lugar a Shade, explicado por la misma Miss Dorian Corey: 

“no te digo que eres feo, pero no tengo que hacerlo porque tú sabes que eres feo”.

En otras palabras: es la efervescencia de lo hojaldra (lo mala onda). Pero no se trata de empezar a lanzar mierda hacia todos y todo, para ello debes tener la suficiente confianza en ti gracias a una formación apta para ello que consta de perspicacia, astucia, inteligencia y estilo propio para poder tirar shade a alguien. No es para todos, pero muchos (o todos) quisieran (y pretenden) ser capaces de ejecutarlo. ¿Y en dónde crees poder tener una formación así de canina? – ¡Dah! ¡Obvi, desde casa!

Voguing

Una de las más notables influencias de este grupo de outsiders a los eventualmente insiders entaconados de la actualidad es la máxima y flamboyante expresión del shade: el voguing, un baile que dos personas llevan a cabo porque la presencia (o existencia) de uno no le era completamente placentera al otro y viceversa.

En vez de pelear y aventar tacones de aguja, preferían arreglar sus diferencias en la pista de baile. Las reglas eran claras: no hay contacto físico y quien realizara los mejores movimientos simétricos que hacen referencias a jeroglíficos egipcios y rutinas gimnásticas (ven, no era sólo una crisis convulsiva) resultaría el ganador.

– ¡Padresantísimobendito! ¿Cómo que mi Madonna no es la mente detrás del voguing? – (¡JA!)

Mopping

“Mopping is stealing”

Livingston en aquellos días de enormes brechas racistas (¡momento! ¿aquellos días?) busca desesperadamente contactos o algún modo para entrar al mundo del balling, finalmente lo logra y convence a varios de los involucrados en el documental para permitirle llevar a cabo su trabajo. Todos encantados, la profecía de Warhol se cumpliría: tendrían sus 15 minutos de fama.

La grabación transcurrió de un modo di-vi-no, se omiten las barreras étnicas y permiten que todo el trabajo se lleve a cabo. La media se jaló justo después del estreno, cuando comenzaron las especulaciones acerca del enriquecimiento de Livingston gracias al documental, y el diluvio de demandas arreció. Los demandantes, argumentando que parte de esa riqueza debería ser repartida, ya que dichas ganancias fueron gracias al maquillaje, pelucas, horas de trabajo en la máquina de coser y sobre todo el trabajo intelectual de los participantes del documental. La mayoría de dichas demandas fueron retiradas al no contar con los suficientes elementos legales para sostenerlas y sobre todo por la espectacular ausencia de los supuestos recursos económicos en las bolsas de la directora.

GOT TO BE REAL – Realness

“… but you’re black and your’e male and your’e gay. You’re gonna have a hard fucking time”

El hecho que un grupo de white boys llevara a cabo las grabaciones de eventos tan selectos, underground, propios de la comunidad LGBTTTTTTTI (que en aquel momento no serían significantes para ninguna casa productora) tiene un buen resultado: aprovechan absolutamente todos los recursos que se les pudieran presentar: las tomas son sencillas, claras y plasman sin (más) maquillaje la realidad de los ball, en algunas otras escenas denota la necesidad de aprovechar cada toma, cada detalle que ocurre, incluso en segundo plano es importante. ¡Uy, y qué decir de la música! No debería tener lugar un ball sin buena música, mucho menos un documental sin la apropiada.

Nos presumen un Nueva York vespertino-nocturno, fuera de las locaciones típicas y esperables para algo grabado en <la gran> ciudad, que en efecto, jamás duerme, mucho menos sus habitantes más jóvenes, como el par de pubertos con una muy concreta y certera visión de lo ocurrido en la escena gay del momento.

Uno de los más tristes motivos por el cual, considero, se mantiene vigente es porque Livingston al capturar la Ball Scene lo hace enfocándose en un sector de afroamericanos, latinoamericanos y transexuales; un sector fuertemente discriminado dentro de una comunidad que, igualmente, es fuertemente segregada por el resto de la sociedad.

Están presentes temas como: las penumbras del Big Disease with the Little Name (HIV), crímenes sin resolver, asesinatos violentos en contra de una de sus integrantes transexuales, y sí, continuamos hablando de 1987 no de 2016. –Espeluznantes situaciones que siguen reinando (#BlackLivesMatter) – Paradójico y sorprendente hasta para la mismísima Joan Rivers, quién quedó anonadada al conocer de ésta situación de racismo y odio al momento de realizar una entrevista al elenco del documental.

“So, this is New York City, and this is what the gay life is about. Right?”

El cómo Paris is Burning hizo metamorfosis desde algo completamente outsidera un must, considero es sencillo: muchos obtienen enormes influencias de aquí, algunos realizan malas copias, otros lo adaptan a la actualidad, otros se enfocan en solamente algún aspecto, como la moda. El porque: es el ardor de la creatividad, el derroche de talento, son las cenizas de París.
